Resultants And Methods

Resultants
The resultant is the vector sum of two or more vectors. It is the result of adding vectors together. Like what Mr. Mendoza said when displacement A,B,C combined together, the result will be vector R but will still have the same effect as the three displacement. As illustrated in the figure the effect of the three displacement will be the same as the effect of the R vector:

That is why it can be said that : A+B+C=R

Steps in using the Component Method:

Make a table of x and y components and add algebraically to find the magnitude of resultant components:

Rx= AxBxCx....

Ry= Ay+By+Cy...

After getting the magnitude square each sum of components then add.

(Rx)2 and (Ry)2

Then get their square root. And that's how we use the component method. :]
so hard..so bad.

Steps in using the Graphical Method:

Representations are used for us to understand the idea easy. Like the graphical method it lets us view the scene when we illustrate the data of the vectors given. :] So we use graphical method simply because we can illustrate it by using a figure for example.
Steps:

1. Get first the vectors. You Should use a scale say for example 20 miles=1cm.
2. Draw Cartesian Plane. It would be easy for you to do this if you some kind of a point of origin.
3. Then after naking it, draw the first vector. Then, connect the tail of the second vector to the head of the first vector then do the same as with the vectors [head-tail style].
4. Label the degree of angle and specify the directions.
5. With the use of formulas, it is now easy for you to get the magnitude and the direction of the vector.

Lessons Learned

SOHCAHTOA

-Ahh.. can anyone answer this equation using pen and a paper? :] even Mr. Frany can't solve this equation. But with the use of scientific calculator, it is easier but it is still hard.

This is the first time I encountered this kind of lesson so I find coping with it hard because like what I've said subjects which are equation related are my waterloos. And also, the way our Physics Teacher discussed it. Very fast discussion made it more like hell. But the thing that amazed me is how my classmate Jayvee Tabal interact with Mr. Mendoza. :] I'm not envious about him [Mr. Tabal].

That is how we solve this so-called "SOHCAHTOA".

Resultant Vector

- Like what Mr. Mendoza told us we can obtain this vector by two (2) methods: The Graphical and Component method. This lesson is very memorable for me because for one (1) reason: First Quiz and a perfect Zero. Oh yes, a perfect zero, one mistake and you're out. One of my classmate managed to get a score of 5 [scoring system was: 0,5,10] in the person of Leandro Carandang. This was easier for me because you'll just get the x and y component and then add all the x component and do the same with the y component, square the sum of each component then add the two then get the square root. whew. :]

1st week..

Damn. 1st week of school is really a counterpart of hell or even worse. But "Physix" is more heavenly than i thought. Working with my scientific calculator made it easier for me coping up with our lessons. Physics is now easier. With the help of our modern technology, projects, assignments, requirements, etc. are now placed in a digital portfolio. [ you see, MaSci projects are now required to be digital. :]] ] But I'm looking forward to learning physics the easy way. :]
